Frequently asked questions

What dimensions do I need for a passport photo?

Most countries require 35 × 45 mm (approximately 413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI). Our preset handles this automatically.

Will resizing change my file size?

Yes. Reducing dimensions almost always reduces file size. For best results, resize first then compress using our compressor tool.

Can I resize without changing aspect ratio?

Yes. The aspect ratio lock is enabled by default. Changing width automatically adjusts height to maintain proportions.

What is the difference between px and mm?

Pixels (px) are digital units. Millimeters (mm) are physical print units. We convert mm to pixels using 300 DPI, the standard for print quality.

Is my image uploaded to your server?

No. All resizing happens in your browser using HTML5 Canvas. Your image never leaves your device.
